We had planned to include this piece in the previous LEYTR, but following Brylaine’s decision to withdrawn the B6 Sandsider prior to its recommencement over the summer holidays, it appears that the route has now been consigned to the history books. Read why we understand the B6 has been pulled in the latest LEYTR, which can be purchased by visiting www.LEYTR.com.
Brylaine launched a new B6 “Sandsider” service on Tuesday 26 May, between Burgh-le-Marsh and Addlethorpe via Skegness. The service operates on Mondays (except Bank Holidays) to Fridays during Lincolnshire school holidays, running every 30 minutes from 0815-1815 from Addlethorpe and 0900-1730 from the bus stop opposite Wainfleet Road at Burgh-le-Marsh. The route does a loop around Burgh-leMarsh taking in East End, Hall Lane and Wainfleet Road. It also does a loop at the Addlethorpe end via Orby Road and Church Road.
The route to Skegness is via the A158, Lincoln Road, Queens Road, Wainfleet Road (A52) to the Bus Station. Thence via Lumley Road, Skegness Seafront, Seaview Road and the A52. The service does not serve Fantasy Island, instead taking a similar route through Ingoldmells to Stagecoach’s 59 (Skegness–Mablethorpe) via Hurdman Way and Sea Lane.
The first to vehicles to work the route on 26 May were both Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2-bodied Volvo B9TLs. SN08BXK, with the 0900 from Burgh-le-Marsh, and X13 XBT on the following 0930 departure.
